I honestly don't like those people who rely on exaggerated bust or hips to tell the viewer that it's a female. Trying to sound like the biggest douche ever, I try to portray more than the female, rather, the feminine essence by means of the subtle curves and the slight of actions they give -- the graceful swing of the female wrist as it cusp gratuitously or the gentle sway of the female figure as it sways to and fro when it walks.

You could probably accentuate certain aspects of the female anatomy to make them seem more feminine.
